Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the CivicOS mobile application and related services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
CivicOS is provided by Code iland AB (organisationsnummer 559393-4424), Stockholm, Sweden. Before creating a wallet, registering, or signing in, you must affirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use CivicOS.
2. Use of the App
You may use CivicOS only in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms. You are responsible for your use of the app and for any information you choose to provide.
3. Identity, Participation, and On-Chain Publication
CivicOS provides identity onboarding and verified participation features. Identity verification uses supported passports or identity cards and may depend on device capabilities and compatible documents.
CivicOS does not provide cryptocurrency exchange, swapping, trading, brokerage, custody, deposits, withdrawals, or transfers of user funds. Cryptographic tokens are used only where needed to publish result proofs on-chain. CivicOS does not enable users to buy, sell, or exchange those tokens in the app.
4. User-Generated Content and Zero Tolerance
CivicOS has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not create, publish, or distribute content that is:
- illegal, threatening, harassing, bullying, hateful, discriminatory, or defamatory;
- sexually exploitative or abusive, including any content involving minors;
- violent, dangerous, or intended to encourage self-harm or harm to others;
- deceptive, fraudulent, impersonating another person, or materially misleading;
- spam, unauthorized promotion, malware, or content intended to disrupt the service; or
- otherwise objectionable or abusive in context.
5. Reporting, Blocking, and Enforcement
CivicOS filters and moderates user-generated posts and comments. Users can report objectionable content and block abusive users from the content menu. Blocking immediately removes that user's posts and comments from the blocking user's feed and sends the associated content to Code iland AB for moderation review.
Code iland AB reviews user reports within 24 hours. We may remove objectionable content and suspend, disable, or permanently eject users who provide objectionable content or engage in abusive behavior. We may also preserve or disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.
6. Other User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information where required.
- Use the app lawfully and responsibly.
- Do not misuse, reverse engineer, attack, or disrupt the service.
- Do not attempt to evade content moderation, blocking, or account enforcement.
7. Intellectual Property
CivicOS and its related branding, software, and content are owned by Code iland AB or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
8. Disclaimer
The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the app will be error-free in all circumstances.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where a user violates these Terms, creates risk for other users, repeatedly provides objectionable content, or uses CivicOS unlawfully.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When an update requires renewed acceptance, CivicOS will present the updated Terms before allowing registration or sign-in.
